Eskom has implemented stage two load-shedding across the country, this as the power system remains constrained.

Stage two allows for up to 2000 megawatts of the national load to be cut as currently two generators are down.

Last year the country started to experience power shortage following the collapse of a coal silo at the Majuba power station.

Eskom Spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe said earlier today we lost a number of our generating units which are earlier on had made us implement stage one of load-shedding, but unfortunately we lost additional capacity during the course of the day due to technical problems.

Phasiwe said now we have started implementing stage two of load-shedding which started at 14h00 and will go on until 22h00 in the evening.
