N2 accident claimed two lives in Mthinzini near KZN

Two people died and 27 others were injured in a motor vehicle accident on the N2 near Mthunzini in KwaZulu Natal.

It is alleged that a LDV bakkie had reportedly overturned.

KZN Emergency Medical Services Spokesperson Robert Mckenzie said Paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services as well as several private ambulance responded to a crash earlier today.

Meckenzie added that when they arrived at the scene they found that two patients have sustained fatal injuries. The paramedics treated 29 patients who have been injured in the incident. 15 patients were seriously injured, while 12 patients had minor injuries.

He also said that he injured patients were stabilized before being transported to Ngwelezane hospital for continued medical care.

Police were also on the scene and are investigation the exact cause of the crash.
