Racing car driver injures eight people

An accident last night left eight people injured along Victoria Street in Pietermaritzburg.

It is believed that a vehicle came racing down the road veered off the road into a crowd of people and came to rest after hitting two stationary vehicles.

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said they transported all eight patients to hospital with various injuries ranging from critical to minor.
The exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
