Yesterday morning a 22 year
old woman was arrested for the possession of Mandrax and Ammunition.
The arrest followed after
members of the Tactical response team patrolling the Gugulethu area, received
information about an address within the area where illegal substances were
kept.
Colonel Thembinkosi Kinana
said on entering the premises at NY Gugulethu, they conducted a search which
saw them discovering in the bed room a substantial of amount of mandrax hidden
in compartments under the bed and it totalled 2 860.
Kinana said they further found
two plastic bags of Mandrax power, two plastic bags of Mandrax tablet’s pieces,
25 rounds of ammunition and an undisclosed amount of money.
Kinana added that the 22 year
old woman was arrested immediately and will be appearing in the Athlone
Magistrates Court as soon as she is charged.
