The Congress of South African Trade Union in Mpumalanga has condemned the attack on South African Communist Party members during the Joe Slovo and Jimmy Mohlala memorial lecture over the weekend.

African National Congress and SACP members traded blows when ANC members tried to stop SACP members from entering the hall where the memorial lecture was taking place.

Several people were left injured during the incident.

Cosatu Mpumalanga Provincial Secretary Fidel Mlombo said we believe as Cosatu that there are people who are behind this and those who have done this thing are just being sent to do this things

Mlombo added that they are in a process as COSATU of investigating the real culprits, the real people who have sent the people to disrupt the SACP memorial lecture.
