Western Cape Traffic
Authorities conducted 24 roadblocks across the province of which 2 175 vehicles
were stopped and checked and 1 146 drivers were tested for alcohol.
During the roadblocks 30
drunken drivers were arrested.

Africa said the highest reading in the Western
Cape 1.12mg/1000 ml on the N1 outside Worcester .
Meanwhile also during the
roadblocks one person was arrested for being in possession of false
documentation on the N1 just outside Swellendam. Another driver was arrested
for being in possession of Dagga.

Africa said they also arrested one person for reckless and negligent driving.
In Mossel Bay one illegal immigrant was arrested.
The total amount of fines that we issued was R307 100 and we also tested the
speed of 7 833 of which we prosecuted 679 drivers for exceeding the speed
limit.
Africa added that there are
only two fatalities have been recorded
so far over for the weekend one pedestrian lost his life in Gugulethu on Friday
another pedestrian was knocked down by a truck and lost his life.
