The National Sea Rescue Institute at St Frances Bay attended to a drowning incident whereby two Dutch females were caught in strong rip currents and were being swept out to sea.

NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said a 58-year-old Dutch woman died and another was rescued safely by a bystander.

Lambinon says a woman from Holland was found face down on the beach. She had been rescued from the water by a bystander.

“Shortly after that during a search, a body of another woman also from Holland was found in the water, but despite extensive CPR efforts she was declared dead on the scene” Lambinon added.
