A shooting incident in Bedford shopping centre earlier today has left seven people injured.

It is believed that eight suspects entered the shopping centre to rob a security guard who was collecting money inside the centre, and shooting ensued.

ER24 Spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said when they arrived on scene they found the area in chaos.

Bodasing added that one of the patients, a man, treated by ER24, sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was assessed on scene, treated and transported to hospital for further treatment.

The exact details to the cause of the shooting will remain the subject of a police investigation.
