Police arrest 386 suspects in seven tracing operations over the past week

An operation conducted by the Mitchell’s Plain Cluster last week resulted in 386 suspects being arrested for crimes which include illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and drugs.

Police conducted seven tracing operations over the past week. 

Captain FC van Wyk said during the past week 43 houses were searched for drugs, whereby 105 suspects were arrested.

Van Wyk said drugs confiscated involved 34 heroines, 240 packets of tik, 28 mandrax tablets and 173 grams of dagga.

“The Mitchell Plein’s police management wants to thank all community structures of Mitchell Plein, who joined the South Africa police services in combating crime and urges the community to remain vigilant”, Van Wyk added.
