The Democratic Alliance says the draft new
National Youth Policy for 2014-2019 contains no new ideas instead repeats old
ideas about the youth employment accord which has been a complete failure to
date.
Meanwhile in a statement the National Youth
Development Agency says the DA is misreading the take on the youth wage
subsidy.
DA Deputy MP in the Presidency Michael
Cardo said the DA believes the Youth wage subsidy should be implemented at scale, that it should be ramped up.
Cardo added that the broadening of the
Youth wage subsidy should be absolutely central to the National Youth Policy
and that is what we are going to make the focus of our submission going
forward.
