Four people including two children died in Free State crash

An accident on the R714 in Warden in the Free State has left four people dead including two children and two others critical injured after two vehicles collided.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene and found the two wrecked vehicles lying on the side of the road. Both vehicles had sustained severe damage in the collision.

He also said on assessment, paramedics discovered four bodies lying in one of the vehicles. A woman in her 60s and another in her 20s was found lying in the front of the vehicle while two children aged 2 and 6 were found lying in the back of the vehicle.

“Unfortunately all four occupants of the vehicle had sustained fatal injuries and were declared dead by paramedics.” Meiring added.

He also said that they assessed two other patients from the second vehicle, a male and female believed to be in their 60s. Both patients were found lying next to their vehicle and were in a critical condition. A doctor that had been driving by had stop to assist the injured on scene.
Exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
